Family update on the four leged kids.

I know it has been awhile since I reported back to you about the kids. Now that the holidays are behind us I need to sit down and catch you up.

Gracey is doing fine, she's on her 2nd treatment with the tri guard pill and starts her 3rd and hardest treatment Jan 16 with the heart injection. This is were she has to stay very calm for over a month, its going to be hard because now she is part of the pack and wants to run around with the gang. Doc said she must stay calm or have heart failure if she gets to excited.

Little Presley---- well lets just say she knows how to keep mom and dad going. I don't know why but about a month ago she took a liking to acorns, yep that's ACORNS! $300.00 later we thought she learned her lesson no no no, play it again SAM-- she ate another one. What happen the first time was it lodged in her lower intestine above her Collen. She became very sick dehydrated, lethargic and almost gone in about 3 days. After 3 sets of ex-rays I-V drip and a overnight stay at hospital the ex-rays showed movement of the acorn to the Collen so home she went. Next day POOPED out an acorn about the size of a marble. Thought she learned the first time NOPE, last weak did it again. Mom and dad new what to do this time, one good shot of pepto bismo and put her back on prescription diet and next day yep you guessed it pop out another acorn.
Jake-he is doing great. I cant wait for better weather to work with him.

Its hard when its below freezing and wet too. He's over 10 mo. now but not ready or even old enough for agility trials need to be 18mo. old to enter. That's good because still working on basic commands and building a strong foundation for agility. Still some times it sucks because all I can do is go and watch but its good for Jake to work on being around other dogs and all the excitement too. We have been learning allot together by going out with our friends and trainers Gary and Gina they have been such a great help for Jake and I. Also when the weather is good I will take Jake out to the ball field for some obedience work.

Here is some agility equipment I made.

A table and a few hurdles.

Today Jake and I had a good time down at Rendon TX. with a good friend and trainer Gary. Every time we go its a learning experience for us, man Jake wants to meet every dog and person he walks by. I need to get out in the public with him more often so he will mellow out some. Right now he's wiped out on the couch, poor feller just worn himself plum out.

Here are some videos of agility trials at Rendon.

Last but not least my oldest precess dog Abby. I never really thought of this until I received a phone call from my neighbor right before Christmas. There Schnauzer Max was part of there family for over 13 years, he passed away. I new something was wrong when she called me on the phone that day. Abby is not getting any younger I can remember when I trained her to dove retrieve, my hunting friends and I was amazed on how fast she caught on and retrieved birds with lightning speed even when there were three guns and only one Abby. When My gun would go up for aim so would Abby to attention then boom boom and she's off running her heart out to get dads bird he shot, man I miss those days. Now she has arthritis and finds it a challenge just to lay down but you know I will still care and love her till the last day, when I have to make that same call my neighbor did to me.

Its getting late now so I need to get going to bed, tomorrow is going to be nice and I want to play and work with Jake and the others too.

Till then.
Gator
