AN AMERICAN CREED
by Dean Alfange
I DO NOT CHOOSE TO BE A COMMON MAN
It is my right to be uncommon-if I can.
I seek opportunity-not security. I do not wish to be a kept citizen, humbled and dulled by having the state look after me.
I want to take the calculated risk; to dream and to build, to fail and to succeed.
I refuse to barter incentive for a dole. I prefer the challenges of life to the guaranteed existence; the thrill of fulfillment to the stale calm of utopia.
I will not trade freedom for beneficence nor my dignity for a handout. I will never cower before any master nor bend to any threat.
It is my heritage to stand erect, proud and unafraid; to think and act for myself, enjoy the benefit of my creations and to face the world boldly and say, "This I have done."
This letter was read today by our coordinator Dan Fowlers
Dr. David Jeremiah

No matter what we don’t have we have more to be thankful for than we may have imagined!

If you own just one bible you are abundantly blessed 1/3 of the world does not have access to even one bible.
If you woke up this morning with more health than illness you are more blessed than the million who will not survive the week we start today.
If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the panes starvation you are ahead of more than five hundred million people around the world
If you have food in your refrigerator, a roof over your head, clothes on your back, and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of the world.
If you have money in the bank, money in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace you are among the top 8 % of the worlds wealthy.
If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful you are blessed because the majority can; but most do not.
If you prayed yesterday and today you are in the minority because you believe in Gods willingness to hear and answer prayer.
If you believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God you are part of a very, very small minority in the world.

It’s all a matter of perspective!!
